Brian Rosecrance has made the Outreach Pillar aware of a need within Family Promise (IHN). A family came through IHN 5 years ago and worked hard to graduate from the program last year. They were able to move into a 3 bedroom home and get themselves on track. The family had a terrible car accident resulting in a broken neck for the dad. He will most likely be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
A more recent update of information from Brian includes this additional information. The father spent 6 weeks in Atlanta at Shepherd's Rehab Hospital and came home last Friday. We are using grant funds to cover their rent and utilities until disability and SSI begin. Though homeless following this accident and financial crisis, housing has been obtained. Family Promise found a 3-BR handicapped accessible home. They still have several expenses, including medical and medical equipment as well as gas, insurance, children needs, groceries, etc. This fund is still vital to their transitional needs and has been very helpful during this time. Brian says the family agreed to sharing this information. They are in need.
A fund has been set up for the family at Bank of Tennessee. Perhaps some in our church will remember this family from hosting IHN. Hopefully our congregation would be willing to provide funds to help them get back to a positive point in their life. Anyone wishing to donate to the fund for this family can do so by making a check to Story Family Fund and mailing the gift to:
