Commitment to Christ Series
More than a program about stewardship, the current study on discipleship and commitment to Christ, this series explores six steps to a generous life: Prayer Bible Reading Worship Witness Financial Giving Service The church family is asked to assess prayerfully their own level of commitment and to consider increasing that commitment in one or more categories by one step. Equal emphasis is placed on each of the six steps, clearly communicating that this program is not simply about money, but rather cultivating a thankful heart that will lead us to giving more than we can ever imagine. |

Overview
Beginning in October, our entire church family is invited to enter a season of decision and commitment toward the goal of becoming fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. The theme will be Committed to Christ: Six Steps to a Generous Life. We are hoping that every household will be present in person or online every Sunday during this season so that we can each commit to climb one step closer toward this goal. We will dedicate ourselves to the Lord and obey what the Lord has commanded, in a spirit of gratitude for all that we have received.
On an introductory Sunday at the start of the program on October 1, 2023, we will be asked to make or renew our personal commitment to Christ. Each of the six Sundays following will emphasize a different area of faithful Christian discipleship: prayer, Bible reading, worship, witness, financial giving, and service.
In the link below, you will find a Committed to Christ Brochure that will describe the program and show the various levels of commitment, ranging from limited commitment to full and unlimited commitment. There are also links for each of the commitments throughout the series. These online cards can be completed with their corresponding week or whenever you feel led.
To celebrate what God is doing here at First Church, the program will culminate in a special time of worship and a Thanksgiving Potluck on November 19, 2023. May God bless each of us as we commit together to become fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
