Clare's Closet

This ministry provides new or gently used winter wear items to those who need them. The Steve and Novice Gross family established this to give thanks and to honor God for their granddaughter Clare.
This has been an extremely successful mission project for many years now at 1stChurch. Items can be donated any time. There is a box in the Connector area near the church office. A particular emphasis may be started late summer and early fall to get ready. Then, later in the fall, the items will be distributed. Bring new or gently used winter coats, gloves, hats, scarves to church. Volunteers will sort, hang and arrange coats and winter wear items by size from child to adult. Again new items are welcome but gently used items are also greatly appreciated. Monetary donations can be directed through the church treasurer as well and then some items are purchased in bulk.
On Saturday's when there is a Food Pantry goods distribution, Clare's Closet will also be "open" October through March. This is the fourth Saturday of every month except for November and December (which will be the third Saturday).
For 2024-25, you can still bring items for collection and sorting and place them in the collection box in the Narthex.

Please remember your new or “slightly” used coat donations for this community outreach. A red collection box is in the Connector. *Note: Outerwear of all sizes is needed - infants to adults - including coats, jackets, hoodies, gloves and mittens.
