1st Church JC has a rich tradition and history of involvement with missions from our neighborhood, our city, our state, our country and our world.

Missions include:
Clare's Closet, FUMC Food Pantry, Brother's Keeper, Good Samaritan, Family Promise (IHN),  Melting Pot, The Wesley Foundation, Camp Bays Mountain, Holston Home for Children,

The United Methodist Women serve prayerfully and financially many of their own missions, the youth go on mission trips, the children have done local mission work, Sunday School classes take on numerous projects including Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets and Salvation Army Angel Child program, Operation Christmas Child Shoebox ministries, Nothing but Nets, Health Kits for UMCOR, Buckets for Emergency Relief Work for UMCOR, and more. International Mission work includes giving through UMCOR for emergency work, Partners in Mission with the Johnson City District and the Czech Republic.

The Outreach Pillar/Committee and Finance committee is responsible for overseeing the budget aspects of missions. If you have a specific request for use of funds in the budget for a specific project, please contact the outreach committee chairperson. There is a form to send and it is available on the Forms and Documents page of the website.
