Czech Republic and Johnson City District:  Partners in Mission

FUMC has been involved with the District emphasis on supporting our brothers and sisters in the Czech Republic for many years.

In 2015 1st Church had members participate in two different district teams outside of our church.  Serena Crowder traveled to Czech in June for 10 days of sports camp and more.  She joined a team from Chattanooga including prior member Kellie Bracken.

Martha Campbell and Morgan Jenkins traveled with a group from Munsey Memorial UMC for a sports camp teaching softball in Litomerice in July for 10 days.

In August 2015 a six member team all from FUMC traveled to the English Speaking United Methodist Church in Prague.  (ESUMC)  They performed some light construction work including scraping old paint off of walls and doors.  Team members included 4 who wil be made their first trip to the CZ Republic:  Anna Kapoor, Jennifer Boarman, Nate Berning and Sarah Kapoor. Also on this team are Rev. Jane Taylor and Karl Kapoor, who each have had multiple trips to CZ.

Our church has not made recent trips to CZ, but we still support the ministry through the District efforts.
