COVID-19 Response Update as of November 4, 2021:
The First UMC Reopening Team met on November 4, 2021, and based on current COVID-19 data, announces these updates: - FUMC recommends masks be worn inside. - The congregation may resume singing together during worship. - Meals, drinks, and snacks may be shared indoors. - All groups, classes, and committees are welcome to meet in person in the church building.
In order to return to these activities safely, the Reopening Team offers this guideline: - We recommend everyone wear a mask during indoor activities, especially those individuals who are unvaccinated or particularly vulnerable.
As a church, we have missed several activities over the past year, and we are excited that many have resumed with more coming soon. All Sunday School classes have resumed meeting each week. Pathfinder's Sunday school class invites anyone who cannot attend a class in person to join them for a virtual class meeting that joins the in-person class. Email the church office for information on how to receive an email link for this virtual session. The children, youth, and young adults are gathering weekly on Wednesdays. All UMW Circles are meeting monthly.
We will continue to offer online worship options, and we encourage groups to find ways to include members who are not yet comfortable returning for in-person activities. The Reopening Team will continue to meet and modify guidelines as needed. Thank you to everyone as we work together to love God and love our neighbors.
