Missions Conference 2015: February 28 - March 1 Here is the Schedule Detail:
Saturday, February 28th 9:30- 12 noon Food Pantry at Neighborhood Center 12:30 Lunch in Fellowship Hall- Soup, Cornbread, Dessert (help still needed, please contact Pam Heaton, Barbara Leclair) 1:00 Break into volunteer groups (1) Assemble Layette Kits- Fellowship Hall (2) Rise Up- Cleaning, painting (3) Food Forrest @ Neighborhood Center- spring planting, trim shrubbery (4) Children's Activity- parents will be able to volunteer in other groups 3:00 End of activities- Thanks for a job well done!! Sunday, March 1st 9:15 Gather in Fellowship hall, UMCOR presentation, continental breakfast provided 10:30 Combined worship, Faith Promise and a Love Offering for UMCOR 11:45 (following service) Potluck lunch with meat and beverages provided by Outreach
Displays of layettes kits, various mission opportunities will be on display in the Narthex and Parlor through March 1
This year we will be assembling Layette Kits for UMCOR(instead of Health Kits).
OUR GOAL AS A CHURCH IS A MINIMUM OF 100 LAYETTE KITS: INDIVIDUALS, SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES, AND OTHER GROUPS CAN BRING THE ITEMS AS LISTED IN THE LINK ABOVE. YOU CAN ALSO CHOOSE TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO PURCHASE THE ITEMS. IT WILL BE BEST IF YOU CHOOSE TO PROVIDE MONEY, TO SEND IT BEFORE FEBRUARY 20TH SO THERE IS APPROPRIATE TIME TO PURCHASE THE NEEDED ITEMS.
Saturday Feb 28 we will have, as usual for the fourth Saturday of each month, sponsor the Community Food Distribution (Food Pantry) at the Neighborhood Center. We will also have 2 projects: (1) assembling health kits and (2) spruce-up work at Rise Up (3) Food Forest work (4) children's activities (while parents can volunteer at other projects)
Sunday March 1 we will have special presentation by representatives of UMCOR during the Sunday School hour, then a combined worship service followed by a potluck lunch.
